Historian and poet, Russell Bourne for many of his recent years summered in Maine and wintered in Ithaca. Much of his earlier career was spent editing and directing the publishing of books for such prestigious institutions as Time-Life, National Geographic, and the Smithsonian. He began to write himself in the 1980s, focusing on American History and poetry. In celebration of Mr. Bourne’s life and work, Lifelong will be holding a poetry reading on April 8, from 2 – 3:00. Russell Bourne will read his poems, along with host Jack Hopper, an Ithaca poet laureate, and other poets such as Peter Fortunato. Please join us for an afternoon of words, images, and life.
