This summer, Lifelong had to say goodbye to our wonderful HIICAP (Health Insurance Information Counseling & Assistance) coordinator, Nicole Zulu. Nicole took the position here after Elizabeth Schneider retired last year, and did a great job keeping the program lively and growing. We are very sad to see her go, but wish her the best of luck as she and her family pursue opportunities and warmer climes. In addition, Mary Pat Dolan, long time coordinator of the Lifelong TCE (Tax Counseling for the Elderly) program, is stepping back from her role (she’s not leaving completely) to spend more time with family. We’re happy that she isn’t disappearing since she has a wealth of knowledge, experience, (and great baking skills) that she has applied through the years allowing Lifelong and its volunteers to provide an essential service to the community.
Stepping into both their shoes, is Liza Burger, a highly skilled and valued social worker formerly at Groton Community Health Care Center. Her positive energy, experience in the field, and dynamic personality make her a great addition to the “Lifelong family” and a good fit for coordinating both these programs.
