D Spiro’s life in art began in her late teens and early twenties with oils and acrylics. She has also drawn, free hand or mechanically, throughout her life, a pastime she continues to enjoy. A few months after retiring in 2009 (she worked in Architecture for 12 years, then Construction Project Management for 24 years) she began painting with watercolors at Lifelong. Besides regularly attending Tuesday Lifelong watercolor sessions, she has taken several courses at CSMA and has painted (rather than drawn) nude models at numerous Open Sketch sessions. D is a member of the Fair Weather Painters group, painting outdoors at various locations in Tompkins County.
Drop down to Lifelong to view the exhibition from now until August.
