Throughout the year Lifelong offers its membership the opportunity to see a variety of films. This spring there are two film series being offered.

The World Cinema Part IV features outstanding and often eclectic films by directors from around the world. This series is facilitated by longtime Lifelong member Ron Krieg whose film collection surpasses 250 in number of which most are from countries other than the U.S. Part IV will include 12 films, run from April 7 to Jun 23, Tuesdays, 1:30 – about 5:00 (depending on the length of the movie). The cost is $40 or $10 a drop-in, and Lifelong membership ($25 individual or $40 household of 2).

The Africana Library Film Series is facilitated by Cornell African/African American subject specialist and director of the John Henrik Clarke Africana Library, Eric Acree. These films present powerful, often painful, and sometimes heroic stories associated with the history of slavery in this country and its ongoing implications in current American politics and society. For the next 3 months, on the first Tuesday (March 3, April 7 and May 5) at 6:30 – 8 PM, these films will be shown free and open to the public. Lifelong membership is not needed for this series.
