AT LIFELONG (3 sessions, $30)

Description: What the Constitution says and how the Supreme Court interprets it have
become hotly contested issues. By examining the context in which the Constitution was
written, the actual text, and the processes used by the Supreme Court to interpret its
meaning, this course will try to dispel some myths. The final session will look at some of
the Court’s most important cases as well as some of the current controversies.

Instructor: Tom Butler (Yale, 1971), enjoyed a 40-year teaching career at a variety of
independent schools in New York & Connecticut. Specializing in history and economics,
he also ventured into English, psychology, law, math and school administration. Tom
has taught at Lifelong since 2011 and is the current Board President of Lifelong.
