February 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Description: Glaucoma is a group of diseases that can damage the eye’s optic nerve
and result in vision loss and blindness. However, with early treatment you can often
protect your eyes against serious vision loss. We will look at the types and causes of
glaucoma and treatment options.

Presenter: Diane McMillan, MA, University of South Florida Rehabilitation, specializing in
blindness, has a dual national certification as a Low Vision Therapist and a Vision
Rehabilitation Therapist. She has worked in the field of blindness for 40+ years, in
Florida and North Carolina before moving to the Binghamton area about 17 years ago.
She is the manager of the children’s program, and Low Vision Practice manager where
she works with people who are visually impaired or legally blind, and conducts a
Functional Vision Assessment Clinic twice a month for people in the community to help
them make the most of their remaining vision.
